A Letter from the Director
“Come to me all who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart; and you will find rest. For my yoke is easy and my burden light.” (Matthew 11, 28-30).
In times like these we experience the pressure of making ends meet, of tenuous job situations, uncertainty, and the elevated stress levels of those around us as well. Our lives develop a sense of urgency that can wear us down.
Steven Covey, the author of 7 Habits of Highly Effective People reminds us that often we respond to things that are urgent, but are not necessarily important. He invites us to un-clutter our lives and let go of the things that are not important. One thing that is important is to take care of ourselves.
Jesus invites us in the passage above to “take my yoke upon you and learn from me…” Making room for God in our lives can help to move us away from the clutter of our lives and toward a more peaceful place.
Why not plan to make some space in your life to learn about God and to listen for God’s voice in the busyness of your lives. In the following pages are opportunities for the adult community of Holy Apostles to make some room for God. Find one that suits you and plan to take part.
