Capital Campaign

Since our beginning in 1855, our parish has had many significant moments. We are now approaching another one of those moments. In 1966 a significant building project created our current worship space, parish office and rectory. We take this occasion of the 50th anniversary to ask what is needed for our mission today, and what is needed to better serve the next generations of Catholics who will live in New Berlin.

Our Growing to Serve, Rooted in Faith Capital Campaign is designed to enhance our parish facilities to better serve our needs today and attract new families, youth, young adults and seniors to keep our parish growing and thriving.

We invite you to learn more about and participate in our campaign with vigor, hope and excitement.

Phase One Has Begun!

Phase One of the Growing to Serve, Rooted in Faith building project is underway!  Because of the support of so many, the ideas and dreams that started four years ago are now becoming a reality. THANK YOU!  Here are some of the specifics:

On April 13th, we received final permission from the Archdiocese to begin work on Phase One.  Things included are:

  • Installation of the fire sprinkling in the church and school began on April 17th and both are scheduled to be completed by July, 2017.
  • The Parish Center is scheduled to be sprinkled in the summer as schedules permit.
  • The installation of the fire alarm equipment and the video projection system in the church began the last week of April.
  • The creation of the 3K classroom in the school is scheduled to began in mid-May and will be done for the start of the 2017-18 school year.
  • Asbestos abatement and demolition of the rectory and parish offices on National Avenue will be done after the festival.
  • Construction of the adoration chapel is scheduled to begin in the summer of 2017.

On the financial side of things, the Phase One budget is $1,101,000 and includes costs for asbestos removal and demolition of the rectory and parish offices on National Avenue, all fire sprinkling, renovation of the 3K classroom, and the video projection system.  We have the money in hand.  The adoration chapel costs are not included, and are anticipated to be $400,000 to $500,000.  We have donors committed to funding this project.

Phase two of the project will include a gathering space and offices on National Avenue.  This is an estimated $4M project.  We would like to begin in 2018 since the longer we wait, the more the project will cost.  We cannot begin until we have 50% of the cash in the bank. The Building Campaign has received $2,110,040 as of June 16, 2017.

Expenses prior to the construction plus the Phase One costs will leave us with only $800,000 in the bank.  Existing pledges indicate another $1.2M will be received by the end of 2018 which is great.  The sooner we get gifts in, the sooner we can begin the next phase.
