Mission Manager: Communications

Role

This position develops communication campaigns, and creates and releases communications designed to promote opportunities to grow in faith and grow in relationship with Jesus. This is a part time position, 24 hours per week (flexible hours).

Responsibilities

  • Ensure Brand consistency in all communications
  • Work proactively with major stakeholders to plan and execute major communication campaigns
  • Build and maintain communications calendar
  • Design and release digital and print communications
  • Website/Social management, maintenance and analytics
  • Develop and implement a production process that promotes the mission, ensure accuracy and maintains a high level of quality

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, communications, marketing or related field of study
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Publisher, and Adobe InDesign

  • Detail orientated with strong organizational and design skills
  • Ability to pivot, reprioritize and manage time to serve members and meet deadlines
  • Ability to build relationships through interactions with members, volunteers and staff

Mission Assistant: Video/Technology Coordinator

The primary responsibility of this position is to operate video equipment to record the mass and project videos to the congregation. Also, working in conjunction with the Music Director, to coordinate and operate the Pro-Presenter software at weekend and holyday masses. 

Responsibilities include:

  1. Operate video equipment including remote control cameras, switcher, and media recorder.
  2. Demonstrate an eye for visual quality/camera composition of what is projected.
  3. Advance music slides in a timely manner that demonstrates an understanding and comfortability with the mass.
  4. Demonstrate understanding of and ability with Pro-Presenter software.
  5. Coach and/or train others in operating equipment and/or Pro-Presenter software.
  6. Demonstrates flexibility and willingness to adapt to situations.

The ideal candidate will have a media arts background with some previous experience in video technology and/or Pro-Presenter software.

This is a part-time position of 10 hours per week.  Hours will be during Saturday evening and Sunday morning masses.  Additional hours scheduled for Holy Day masses throughout the year.

Middle School Social Studies Teacher

Holy Apostles Catholic School is seeking a Middle School Social Studies teacher for the 2019-2020 school year.  This position requires 8th grade homeroom responsibilities as well as instruction for Social Studies content.  Grade specific duties would include, but not limited to, instruction of Health class, 8th grade graduation, Legacy Project, and Washington DC class field trip.

The qualified candidate is responsible for the instruction, supervision, and management of school students.  The candidate should possess excellent communication skills, exhibit empathy and support for the academic and emotional needs of his or students and foster positive interactions with students and fellow employees.  He or she must also fulfill other responsibilities in accordance with Holy Apostles' mission statement.

  • Shares with administration and staff a responsibility for excellence in education, curriculum development/improvement, school’s policies and procedures, academic achievement and student well-being.
  • Organizes, plans, and prepares assigned classes for optimum educational outcomes by preparing daily lesson plans for subjects taught in alignment with curriculum guidelines established by the State of Wisconsin, Archdiocese of Milwaukee, and Holy Apostles Catholic School.
  • Creates a positive learning atmosphere for all students.  Including recognizing and providing for individual learning styles.
  • Evaluates students’ growth and achievement.
  • Experience in Catholic education with the ability to promote the role of faith in education and leadership preferred.

Reading Interventionist Aide (PT)

Holy Apostles Catholic School is seeking a Reading Interventionist Aide for the 2019-2020 school year.  This is a part-time position, with 20 hours per week.  This position supports, supplements and extends classroom teaching based on the needs of students. The Reading Interventionist Aide assists the teacher in implementing education plans to meet the different learning needs of the students. The TLC aide works in conjunction with the regular classroom teacher. This position provides an educational resource for the Reading Specialist Learning Center Resource teacher and classroom teachers and keeps records of which methods and materials are used for each child.

  • Shares with administration and staff a responsibility for excellence in education, curriculum development/improvement, school’s policies and procedures, academic achievement and student well-being.
  • Assist with coordinating testing of reading levels of all students using a standardized assessment like QRI4 or PALS.
  • Assist TLC teacher with testing academic achievement (PALS, QRI4, WRAT, Conners, etc. or other individualized reading inventories) for incoming transfer students in grades 1–8 and report results to TLC teacher and principal.
  • Provide targeted students with opportunities for individual and/or small group support outside the classroom. Additional priority time is considered when individual needs dictate more intensive intervention.
  • Creates a positive learning atmosphere for all students, including recognizing and providing for individual learning styles.

Math Interventionist

Holy Apostles Catholic School is seeking a Math Interventionist teacher for the 2019-2020 school year.  This is a one-year term position, with 32.5 hours per week.  This position supports, supplements and extends classroom teaching based on the needs of students. The Math Interventionist also provides diagnostic assessment and recommendation to teachers and parents.  The candidate should possess excellent communication skills, exhibit empathy and support for the academic and emotional needs of his or her students and foster positive interactions with students and fellow employees.  He or she must also fulfill other responsibilities in accordance with Holy Apostles' mission statement.

4K Aide (Part-time)

Holy Apostles Catholic School is seeking a part-time 4K aide for the 2019-2020 academic year.  This is a one-year term position, with 25 hours per week.  The classroom aide is responsible for assisting the teacher in the implementation of daily activities that are appropriate to the development of the children.  The aide will assist in the care and protection of the children in order to maintain a safe environment conducive to each child’s growth and development.

  • Enthusiasm, energy, and passion for working with early childhood students
  • Excellent communication skills with students, parents, and staff
  • Strong desire to work collaboratively with families and staff
  • Ability to keep multiple projects moving and on target
  • Having completed or willing to complete the Safeguarding All God’s Children certification
  • Associate/Bachelor degree in Education or related field is preferred
  • Early Childhood and Special Education licensing or experience is preferred

Long-Term Substitute Teacher for 3rd Grade

Holy Apostles School is seeking a long-term Substitute Teacher to teach 3rd Grade for a 14-week duration beginning mid to late October 2019.  The qualified candidate is responsible for following the regular teacher’s lesson plans in a way that ensures consistency and optimal learning, and that encourages students to participate.  This candidate will be accountable for the instruction, supervision, and management of school students.  The candidate should possess excellent communication skills, exhibit empathy and support for the academic and emotional needs of his or her students, and foster positive interactions with students and fellow employees.  He or she must also fulfill other responsibilities in accordance with Holy Apostles' mission statement.

Substitute Teacher (Temporary)

Holy Apostles School is seeking a short-term Substitute Teacher to teach in grades 3K through 8th.  The Substitute Teacher will work in the absence of our regular teachers/aides, assisting students in their daily tasks and helping ensure the understanding of the subject matter being covered.  This position possesses the skills needed to cover daily instruction and run the classroom environment in an orderly fashion. 

  • Follow regular teacher’s lesson plans in a way that ensures consistency and optimal learning, and that encourages students to participate.
  • Assign classwork and homework as necessary, according to lesson plans
  • Modify teaching styles to fit the learning styles of various students
  • Maintain a well-managed classroom and positive learning environment
  • Supervise students out of class such as in the hallways and in the cafeteria
  •  Comply with all procedures, guidelines, and policies of the school at all times
  • Maintain a professional attitude in all manner of conduct with students, faculty, and parents, including a commitment to confidentiality

Lunchroom Supervisor (Part Time)

Holy Apostles Catholic School is seeking a part-time Lunchroom Supervisor for the 2019-2020 academic year.  This is a one-year term position, with 10 hours per week.  The lead lunchroom supervisor will oversee the daily lunch periods and supervise students to ensure a positive and safe environment. 

  • Supervises students during lunchtime and maintains a harmonious atmosphere by encouraging appropriate mealtime manners and behaviors.
  • Directs movement of students throughout the lunchroom in a safe and organized manner.
  • Instructs students on the lunchroom rules and processes (cleanup of food using proper disposal, etc.)
  • Corrects or redirects inappropriate lunchroom behavior and communicates any serious concerns to the classroom teacher, school office or principal.
  • Responds to emergency situation (choking, allergic reactions, etc.) for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns.
