Mission Assistant: Video/Technology Coordinator

The primary responsibility of this position is to operate video equipment to record the mass and project videos to the congregation. Also, working in conjunction with the Music Director, to coordinate and operate the Pro-Presenter software at weekend and holyday masses. 

Responsibilities include:

  1. Operate video equipment including remote control cameras, switcher, and media recorder.
  2. Demonstrate an eye for visual quality/camera composition of what is projected.
  3. Advance music slides in a timely manner that demonstrates an understanding and comfortability with the mass.
  4. Demonstrate understanding of and ability with Pro-Presenter software.
  5. Coach and/or train others in operating equipment and/or Pro-Presenter software.
  6. Demonstrates flexibility and willingness to adapt to situations.

The ideal candidate will have a media arts background with some previous experience in video technology and/or Pro-Presenter software.

This is a part-time position of 10 hours per week.  Hours will be during Saturday evening and Sunday morning masses.  Additional hours scheduled for Holy Day masses throughout the year.

Reading Interventionist Aide (PT)

Holy Apostles Catholic School is seeking a Reading Interventionist Aide for the 2019-2020 school year.  This is a part-time position, with 20 hours per week.  This position supports, supplements and extends classroom teaching based on the needs of students. The Reading Interventionist Aide assists the teacher in implementing education plans to meet the different learning needs of the students. The TLC aide works in conjunction with the regular classroom teacher. This position provides an educational resource for the Reading Specialist Learning Center Resource teacher and classroom teachers and keeps records of which methods and materials are used for each child.

  • Shares with administration and staff a responsibility for excellence in education, curriculum development/improvement, school’s policies and procedures, academic achievement and student well-being.
  • Assist with coordinating testing of reading levels of all students using a standardized assessment like QRI4 or PALS.
  • Assist TLC teacher with testing academic achievement (PALS, QRI4, WRAT, Conners, etc. or other individualized reading inventories) for incoming transfer students in grades 1–8 and report results to TLC teacher and principal.
  • Provide targeted students with opportunities for individual and/or small group support outside the classroom. Additional priority time is considered when individual needs dictate more intensive intervention.
  • Creates a positive learning atmosphere for all students, including recognizing and providing for individual learning styles.

Math Interventionist

Holy Apostles Catholic School is seeking a Math Interventionist teacher for the 2019-2020 school year.  This is a one-year term position, with 32.5 hours per week.  This position supports, supplements and extends classroom teaching based on the needs of students. The Math Interventionist also provides diagnostic assessment and recommendation to teachers and parents.  The candidate should possess excellent communication skills, exhibit empathy and support for the academic and emotional needs of his or her students and foster positive interactions with students and fellow employees.  He or she must also fulfill other responsibilities in accordance with Holy Apostles' mission statement.

  • Shares with administration and staff a responsibility for excellence in education, curriculum development/improvement, school’s policies and procedures, academic achievement and student well-being.
  • Supports, supplements and extends classroom teaching and works collaboratively to implement a quality math program that is research-based and meets the needs of students.
  • Organizes, plans, and prepares assigned opportunities for optimum educational outcomes by preparing math materials that align with curriculum guidelines established by the State of Wisconsin, Archdiocese of Milwaukee, and Holy Apostles Catholic School.
  • Creates a positive learning atmosphere for all students, including recognizing and providing for individual learning styles.
  • Evaluates students’ growth and achievement.

Substitute Teacher (Temporary)

Holy Apostles School is seeking a short-term Substitute Teacher to teach in grades 3K through 8th.  The Substitute Teacher will work in the absence of our regular teachers/aides, assisting students in their daily tasks and helping ensure the understanding of the subject matter being covered.  This position possesses the skills needed to cover daily instruction and run the classroom environment in an orderly fashion. 

  • Follow regular teacher’s lesson plans in a way that ensures consistency and optimal learning, and that encourages students to participate.
  • Assign classwork and homework as necessary, according to lesson plans
  • Modify teaching styles to fit the learning styles of various students
  • Maintain a well-managed classroom and positive learning environment
  • Supervise students out of class such as in the hallways and in the cafeteria
  •  Comply with all procedures, guidelines, and policies of the school at all times
  • Maintain a professional attitude in all manner of conduct with students, faculty, and parents, including a commitment to confidentiality
