A Letter From the Director
Holy Apostles recognizes that we have a duty to support parents as they pass the Roman Catholic faith on to their children. Through the Christian Formation program we seek to meet that duty. We cannot, however, take your place. We cannot take them to Mass weekly, or make all the connections to their life that crop up daily in the lives of all Christians. We can pray with them, and we do, but they need you to also make space in your family life to make prayer an important element in their religious development. The most important thing you can do as a parent is take you child to Mass each week and to pray at home. The Christian Formation program builds upon what you are already doing.
Through the dedicated efforts of our volunteers, children are encouraged to explore the significance of their Catholic faith. They are introduced to prayer, sacrament, scripture, moral behavior, and creed through the lessons that are presented and the activities in which they participate. They learn to cooperate with each other in the class setting and share their faith with each other. And as children grow and develop, they are invited to explore the Catholic tradition at deepening levels.
If your child is enrolled in one of the parish religious education programs (HA School or Christian Formation), your son or daughter should receive registration information during the month of April through their folder. Please look for the registration packet.
In the following webpages you will find program offerings for pre-school, elementary and junior high levels as well as sacrament preparation programs and a special needs program. This catalog includes all the significant dates and times as well as a general description of how the program functions. We look forward to working with you and your child in the year ahead.
Peace,
