Youth Ministry Commission
The Youth Ministry Committee assesses the needs of youth, determines whether and how the eight components of youth ministry (word, worship, community building, service, guidance and healing, empowerment, advocacy and evangelization) are active, makes recommendations for future programming and policies, and encourages and enables youth to participate in other areas of parish life.
The membership for this commission will include ex-officio member, director of youth ministry, Christian Formation representative, 2-3 youth in Grades 7-9, 2-3 youth in Grades 10-12, and 2-3 adults, (catechists, parents, other youth workers, etc.).
The importance of this committee to the future of youth ministry at Holy Apostles is the same as the School Ministry Commission is to the future of Holy Apostles School. Members alive in their faith and love for young people are needed. This is also a place where youth can exercise leadership and creative thinking as well as experience good decision making through consensus. What Holy Apostles Parish has to offer the youth in programming begins with this committee.
At present the committee is not in operation due to too few members. With new volunteers to staff the committee, meetings can be reinstated at any time.
