SEE YOU AT MASS: UPDATED COVID-19 PROTOCOLS AS OF 5/20/2021
Over the last 14 months, the world has been challenged and changed by the COVID19 pandemic. The Holy Apostles community has closely followed the recommendations of the CDC and the Archdiocese of Milwaukee throughout these changing times. At the end of last week, all parishes received the following message from Archbishop Listecki:
“Now, the CDC has issued new guidelines regarding social distancing and the wearing of face coverings and I feel comfortable that we can continue loosening the restrictions of this past year. Therefore, with trust in the Holy Spirit, beginning with Masses for Pentecost Sunday, I am eliminating the restrictions for attendance, face coverings and social distancing...We must remember that after 14 months, some people will not be comfortable in a public setting without face coverings or social distancing. We must continue to treat everyone with dignity and respect.”
The CDC recommendation states that face coverings are no longer required for fully vaccinated adults. As Holy Apostles begins to implement new protocols, we invite you to keep the well being of others in mind. Know children under 12 are still not eligible for the vaccine. Although some people won’t be wearing face coverings, please recognize that others will, even if they have been vaccinated. We encourage you to be mindful of others, especially the vulnerable. Everyone’s comfort level will be different, and everyone’s feelings matter.
New Distancing Protocols:
Ribbons will be removed from half of the pew sections and the balcony. They will remain in the two east sections behind the organ and the furthest west section. The Welcome Center will continue to have chairs distanced as they have been.
Ribbons will be removed from half of the pew sections in the Adoration Chapel.
Capacity limits will remain in place in the conference rooms and the Welcome Center Main for the time being as our community adjusts to the other new protocols.
**Please note the protocols are different for any HA School events. Those will be communicated directly with school families.**
We will continue to live-stream the 9:15 am Mass each week. Ushers, greeters, and Eucharistic ministers will be asked to continue wearing face coverings as they have contact with the most people. The church and meeting rooms will continue to be sanitized after every Mass and hand sanitizing stations will still be offered.
Thank you for your patience and grace as we navigate this next chapter!
