“To focus on that little piece of Jesus you get to hold in your hand ... that was a game-changer.”

-- Susie Duecker

A sacrament is an outward sign established by Jesus Christ during His earthly ministry to confer inward grace. It is a place of divine and human encounter.  The community comes to gather to celebrate the sacraments, they show their support to the recipients and witness the recipients encounter God.

BAPTISM

Baptism is the beginning of our faith journey. The infant becomes a member of the body of Christ, the church. The parents, god parents and the community assume the responsibility to raise the child in faith by word and example.

Baptisms are celebrated at any of the available weekend liturgies. Baptism Prep Sessions are held once a month from 9:00-11:00 am in the Welcome Center.

If you would like to celebrate a Baptism at Holy Apostles, please contact Jan Fredrickson at jfredrickson@hanb.org or (262) 786-7330 for more information.

RECONCILIATION

I have come so that you may have life and have it more abundantly. John 10:10 God desires that we live a life of wholeness. Encountering Christ in the sacrament heals us and restores us to our wholeness that our hearts desire. Wholeness is being well in body, mind and spirit. Come as you are and encounter God’s mercy. Blessed is the one whose transgressions are forgiven. Psalm 32:1

The Sacrament of Reconciliation is offered every Wednesday, from 5:00 - 6:00 PM in the Welcome Center, Timothy conference room.

EUCHARIST

An opportunity to encounter Christ in many different forms; in the consecrated bread and wine that is transformed into the body and blood of Christ, in the sacred words proclaimed and sung, and in the people gathered. The beauty of this encounter is that it transforms us into be like Christ. All are welcome to encounter God’s love revealed to us in the person of Christ. The child must participate in Family Discipleship or be enrolled in Catholic school prior to & after the Sacrament preparation.

CONFIRMATION

“Confirmation perfects Baptismal grace; it is the sacrament which gives the Holy Spirit in order to root us more deeply in the divine filiation, incorporate us more firmly into Christ, strengthen our bond with the Church, associate us more closely with her mission, and help us bear witness to the Christian faith in words accompanied by deeds." - Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1316.

MARRIAGE

Marriage in the Catholic Church joins a husband, a wife, and God in a  lifelong partnership. Marriage forms us to grow in love, kindness, mercy, and holiness, and ultimately helps us become the best version of ourselves.

If you wish to be married at Holy Apostles, please contact Fr. Arul at (262) 786-5445 or aponnaiyan@hanb.org at least six months prior to the date.  You can also contact Jan Fredrickson at (262) 786-7330 or jfredrickson@hanb.org for more information about weddings at Holy Apostles.

HOLY ORDERS

The sacrament of holy orders in the Catholic Church includes three orders: episcopacy (bishop), priest, and deacon. In the phrase "holy orders", the word "holy" simply means "set apart for some purpose." The word "order" designates an established civil body or corporation with a hierarchy, and ordination means legal incorporation into an order.

That is the definition of the Sacrament, but how do you know if you are being called or how to start the discernment process?  Click here for more information.

ANOINTING

OF SICK

The anointing of the sick is administered to bring spiritual and even physical strength during an illness, time of need or as one approaches the end of life.  You don’t have to be dying to be anointed.  The strong grace of the Sacrament is available to all who are seriously sick, to those who embrace the challenges of growing old, and to those in need of healing of body, mind, or soul.

BECOMING CATHOLIC

Becoming a Catholic is a joyful experience.  It is the process of gradually becoming a disciple of Jesus.  We invite you to join us in practicing the habits of following Jesus, which is a lifelong journey of growing in relationship with Jesus by growing in relationship with Catholic disciples.

To learn more about this journey, please contact Jenny Bruders (262) 422-9463 or Jay Landry (262-710-0367).
