Mission Director: Advancement

Holy Apostles Catholic Parish is seeking a Mission Director: Advancement to promote and champion the parish mission in collaboration with other staff.  This position is responsible for communicating the parish mission, cultivating and stewarding relationships with donors, and implementing diverse development strategies to advance the parish mission and sustain the work of parish ministries. The director will be both bold and strategic yet able to work with details in order to establish and lead a best-in-class mission advancement program.

 

This is a full-time position, with regular evening and weekend hours required.

Responsibilities 

  • Develop, implement and lead the strategic advancement program

  • Coordinate the formation of parish and school leadership in advancement activities

  • Benchmark with other organizations that match our funding and engagement priorities

  • Ensure the proper balance of financial giving to sustain the mission

  • Implement donor cultivation programs to discover, qualify, cultivate, brief, solicit, and steward donors of all giving abilities.

  • Clearly articulate annual and long-term goals for the parish and school in collaboration with pastor and principal

  • Select, supervise and evaluate advancement staff and ministry members

 

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated success in providing strategic direction, leadership and operational management of successful generosity, grants, and/or major gifts programs.

  • Self-starter with exceptional communication and follow-up skills.

  • Strategic visionary with tactical prowess.

  • Relational ability to listen to and develop others’ stories and cascade mission impacts widely.

  • Efficient time management and program management skills through delegation and use of technology.

  • B.A. in related field or 3-5 years’ relevant experience.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, video conferencing, and development software.

  • Having completed or willing to complete the Safeguarding All God's Children certification class.

1st Grade Teacher

Holy Apostles Catholic School is seeking a 1st Grade teacher for the 2022-23 school year.  The qualified candidate is responsible for the instruction, supervision, and management of school students.  The candidate should possess excellent communication skills, exhibit empathy and support for the academic and emotional needs of his or students and foster positive interactions with students and fellow employees.  He or she must also fulfill other responsibilities in accordance with Holy Apostles' mission statement.

  • Teaches all subjects to students of the 1st grade except music, foreign language, and physical education. 

  • Shares with administration and staff a responsibility for excellence in education, curriculum development/improvement, school’s policies and procedures, academic achievement and student well-being.

  • Organizes, plans, and prepares assigned classes for optimum educational outcomes by preparing daily lesson plans for subjects taught in alignment with curriculum guidelines established by the State of Wisconsin, Archdiocese of Milwaukee, and Holy Apostles Catholic School.

  • Creates a positive learning atmosphere for all students.  Including recognizing and providing for individual learning styles.

  • Evaluates students’ growth and achievement.

 

Qualifications

  • Committed to the values of Catholic education 

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field,  

  • Possess a valid Wisconsin teaching license 

  • Having completed or willing to complete the Safeguarding All God’s Children certification

4K School Aide

Holy Apostles Catholic School is seeking a part-time 4K School Aide for the 2022-23 school year.  The qualified candidate is responsible for assisting the teacher in the implementation of daily activities that are appropriate to development level of the children.  The aide will assist in the care and protection of the children in order to maintain a safe environment conducive to each child’s growth and development.

This is a one-year term position, with 25 hours per week.  

  • Enthusiasm, energy, and passion for working with early childhood students

  • Excellent communication skills with students, parents, and staff

  • Strong desire to work collaboratively with families and staff

  • Ability to keep multiple projects moving and on target

Qualifications

  • Associate/Bachelor degree in Education or related field is preferred

  • Early Childhood and Special Education licensing or experience is preferred

Extended Care Assistant, Before School Program (Part-time)

Holy Apostles Catholic School is seeking part-time Extended Care Assistant in our Before-School program.  Looking for a passionate and energetic individual that is excited to work with students from 3K-8th grade.  The program is a quiet time for students to enjoy their breakfast, color or read a book prior to the start time of school.

  • Position hours would be 6:45am – 8:15am, days school is in session

  • Flexible days commitment available; 5, 3 or 2 days per week

 

The Extended Care Assistant will assist with the supervision of children to insure a safe, caring and welcoming environment to young children and their parents.

  • Ensures students are orderly and acting appropriately.

  • Contribute to the children’s sense of self-worth as a Christian person.

  • Maintain open lines of communication with children and their parents.

  • Responds to emergency situations for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns.

  • Having completed or willing to complete the Safeguarding All God’s Children certification.

Extended Care Assistant, After School Program (Part-time)

Holy Apostles Catholic School is seeking a part-time Extended Care Assistant in our After-School program.  Looking for passionate and energetic individuals that are excited to work with students from 3K-8th grade.  The work hours would start at 2:45pm and, at the latest, end at 6:00pm, days school is in session.  Flexible days commitment available; 5, 3 or 2 days per week.

 

The Extended Care Assistant will assist with the supervision of children to insure a safe, caring and welcoming environment to young children and their parents. 

  • Ensures students are orderly and acting appropriately.

  • Contribute to the children’s sense of self-worth as a Christian person.

  • Effectively perform activities assigned that meet the needs, interests and abilities of the children.

  • Directs movement of students to and from various areas of the building in a safe and organized manner.

  • Maintain open lines of communication with children and their parents.

  • Responds to emergency situations (injured students, fights, etc.) for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns.

Substitute Teacher (Temporary)

Holy Apostles School is seeking a short-term Substitute Teacher to teach in grades 3K through 8th.  The Substitute Teacher will work in the absence of our regular teachers/aides, assisting students in their daily tasks and helping ensure the understanding of the subject matter being covered.  This position possesses the skills needed to cover daily instruction and run the classroom environment in an orderly fashion.

  • Follow regular teacher’s lesson plans in a way that ensures consistency and optimal learning, and that encourages students to participate.

  • Assign classwork and homework as necessary, according to lesson plans

  • Modify teaching styles to fit the learning styles of various students

  • Maintain a well-managed classroom and positive learning environment

  • Supervise students out of class such as in the hallways and in the cafeteria

  • Comply with all procedures, guidelines, and policies of the school at all times

  • Maintain a professional attitude in all manner of conduct with students, faculty, and parents, including a commitment to confidentiality

 

The qualified candidate will be committed to the values of Catholic education, possess a valid  Wisconsin teaching or substitute teaching license and be driven to meet the needs of all learners.​
