Mission Director: Advancement

Holy Apostles Catholic Parish is seeking a Mission Director: Advancement to promote and champion the parish mission in collaboration with other staff.  This position is responsible for communicating the parish mission, cultivating and stewarding relationships with donors, and implementing diverse development strategies to advance the parish mission and sustain the work of parish ministries. The director will be both bold and strategic yet able to work with details in order to establish and lead a best-in-class mission advancement program.

 

This is a full-time position, with regular evening and weekend hours required.

Responsibilities 

  • Develop, implement and lead the strategic advancement program

  • Coordinate the formation of parish and school leadership in advancement activities

  • Benchmark with other organizations that match our funding and engagement priorities

  • Ensure the proper balance of financial giving to sustain the mission

  • Implement donor cultivation programs to discover, qualify, cultivate, brief, solicit, and steward donors of all giving abilities.

  • Clearly articulate annual and long-term goals for the parish and school in collaboration with pastor and principal

  • Select, supervise and evaluate advancement staff and ministry members

 

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated success in providing strategic direction, leadership and operational management of successful generosity, grants, and/or major gifts programs.

  • Self-starter with exceptional communication and follow-up skills.

  • Strategic visionary with tactical prowess.

  • Relational ability to listen to and develop others’ stories and cascade mission impacts widely.

  • Efficient time management and program management skills through delegation and use of technology.

  • B.A. in related field or 3-5 years’ relevant experience.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, video conferencing, and development software.

  • Having completed or willing to complete the Safeguarding All God's Children certification class.

School Administrative Assistant (Part-Time)

Holy Apostles Catholic School is seeking a part-time School Administrative Assistant.  The school administrative assistant performs confidential secretarial and clerical responsibilities necessary for an efficient and effective school office while acting as a minister of hospitality for students, staff, parents, and parishioners. 

 

This is a part-time position, with 16 hours per week.  The work schedule would be 2 days per week from 7:30am – 4:00pm during the school year, with flexible summer hours and no work during the month of July.

Clerical/Administrative Duties

  • Answer phones and maintain front door security.

  • Record daily attendance, handling all notes from home and keeping list of students who are tardy, leaving early or attend after school activities.

  • Coordinates student school busing schedules and field trip busing schedules with public busing companies.

  • Coordinates and schedules school assemblies and fundraising assemblies, including facility scheduling for all school related activities and subgroup activities.

  • Registers new families and prepares forms for the new school year.

  • Arranges for substitute teachers.

  • Take care of monies that come into the office and appropriately distribute.

  • Coordinate with Health Room volunteers on student records.

  • Assists the principal in scheduling and running safety protocols (fire drills, tornado drills, Lock Down, etc.)

 

Student Relations

  • Assists staff with student concerns.

  • Health office responsibilities include attending to the needs of sick and injured students as well as managing medical records and medications. 

 

Qualifications

  • Ability to talk about one’s personal relationship with Jesus and love of the Catholic Church is required.

  • Strong computer skills

  • Impeccable oral and written communication skills

  • Professional demeanor and appearance

  • Experience working with children

  • Communicate a persistent and consistent message that reflects the school mission.

Mission Advancement Analyst (Part-time)

Holy Apostles Catholic Parish is seeking a part-time Mission Advancement Analyst to promote and champion the parish mission in supporting the Mission Advancement Officer.  This position is responsible for assisting in communicating the parish mission, implementing and managing events, and preparing materials for visits and follow-ups. This position is responsible for tracking and analyzing key financial reporting, collaborating on data integrity, and maintaining accurate parishioner data. This is a 15 hour a week position, with limited occasional evening and weekend hours are required.

Responsibilities

Track key parishioner metrics including maintaining and updating development dashboard results.

  • Analyze database for segmentation and key financial reporting.

  • Collaborate on data integrity and maintain accuracy of parishioner biographic information.

  • Prepare data for various weekly, monthly and annual generosity reporting. 

  • Field questions from parishioners/visitors and address their needs.

  • Provide response and support to parishioner questions on pledges and giving.

  • Coordinate direct mailing of solicitations and parishioners’ communications.

  • Provide orientation and direction to volunteers as needed.

  • Implement and manage mission focused cultivation and advancement events.

  • Identify areas for process improvement and assist in improvement implementation.

 

Qualifications

  • Excellent analytical and strong project management skills 

  • Highly organized, close attention to detail 

  • High level of proficiency with MS Office products.  Excel (V Lookup, Pivot Tables, sort/filter, graph).  MS Word (Mail Merge from multiple data sets).

  • Previous database reporting and relationship management software experience preferred

  • Creativity, innovation, and flexibility

Extended Care Assistant, Before School Program (Part-time)

Holy Apostles Catholic School is seeking part-time Extended Care Assistant in our Before-School program.  Looking for a passionate and energetic individual that is excited to work with students from 3K-8th grade.  The program is a quiet time for students to enjoy their breakfast, color or read a book prior to the start time of school.

  • Position hours would be 6:45am – 8:15am, days school is in session

  • Flexible days commitment available; 5, 3 or 2 days per week

 

The Extended Care Assistant will assist with the supervision of children to insure a safe, caring and welcoming environment to young children and their parents.

  • Ensures students are orderly and acting appropriately.

  • Contribute to the children’s sense of self-worth as a Christian person.

  • Maintain open lines of communication with children and their parents.

  • Responds to emergency situations for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns.

  • Having completed or willing to complete the Safeguarding All God’s Children certification.

  • Maintain open lines of communication with children and their parents.

  • Responds to emergency situations (injured students, fights, etc.) for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns.

Lunchroom Kitchen Assistant (Part-time)

Holy Apostles Catholic School is currently seeking a Lunchroom Kitchen Assistant.  This is a part-time position, with 20 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 9:00am-1:00pm.  This position supports the school lunch program.

  • Participates in the serving and preparation of food for the school lunch program

  • Maintains the highest standards of safety and cleanliness in the kitchen according to the guidelines established

  • Reports any faulty or inferior quality of food

  • Assists in the daily cleaning and sanitation of kitchen, equipment, dishes and utensils

 

Qualification

  • Having completed or willing to complete the Safeguarding All God’s Children certification

  • High School graduate or GED equivalent

  • Food serving and/or preparation experience a plus

Long-term Substitute Teacher 2nd Grade

Holy Apostles School is seeking a long-term Substitute Teacher to teach 2nd Grade for a 13-week duration beginning early to mid March 2022 – end of the academic year . The qualified candidate is responsible for following the regular teacher’s lesson plans in a way that ensures consistency and optimal learning, and that encourages students to participate.  This candidate will be accountable for the instruction, supervision, and management of school students.  The candidate should possess excellent communication skills, exhibit empathy and support for the academic and emotional needs of his or her students, and foster positive interactions with students and fellow employees.  He or she must also fulfill other responsibilities in accordance with Holy Apostles' mission statement.

  • Shares with administration and staff a responsibility for excellence in education, curriculum development/improvement, school’s policies and procedures, academic achievement and student well-being.

  • Organizes, plans, and prepares assigned classes for optimum educational outcomes by following the daily lesson plans for subjects taught in alignment with curriculum guidelines established by the State of Wisconsin, Archdiocese of Milwaukee, and Holy Apostles Catholic School.

Substitute Teacher (Temporary)

Holy Apostles School is seeking a short-term Substitute Teacher to teach in grades 3K through 8th.  The Substitute Teacher will work in the absence of our regular teachers/aides, assisting students in their daily tasks and helping ensure the understanding of the subject matter being covered.  This position possesses the skills needed to cover daily instruction and run the classroom environment in an orderly fashion.

  • Follow regular teacher’s lesson plans in a way that ensures consistency and optimal learning, and that encourages students to participate.

  • Assign classwork and homework as necessary, according to lesson plans

  • Modify teaching styles to fit the learning styles of various students

  • Maintain a well-managed classroom and positive learning environment

  • Supervise students out of class such as in the hallways and in the cafeteria

  • Comply with all procedures, guidelines, and policies of the school at all times

  • Maintain a professional attitude in all manner of conduct with students, faculty, and parents, including a commitment to confidentiality
