Advent Service Projects
Capuchin Toy Drive - We are collecting new toys for the Capuchin Toy Drive for families during Christmas. Gift tags for specific toys are available to pick up in the Welcome Center and the Parish Center entrance. Toys must be unwrapped and returned to Holy Apostles no later than Thursday, December 7.
House of Peace Food Boxes - We are supporting the House of Peace in Milwaukee with Holiday Food Boxes. The packing date is set for Saturday, December 16 at 10:00am in the Church. We are collecting boxes of mashed potatoes, bags of stuffing, cake mix, frosting, green beans, corn, instant pudding, corn bread mix, macaroni and cheese, cranberry sauce, canned yams, and canned gravy. Sign up to commit to donating a specific item with the button below. If you prefer, you are also welcome to donate cash or check. The cost to fill one food box is about $40. Make checks payable to Holy Apostles and write House of Peace in the check memo.
Canticle Garden Project - We are partnering with Works of Mercy Ministry in their project to create a Canticle Garden on the grounds of the St. Colletta of Wisconsin St. Francis Center in Waukesha. This project connects us in our efforts to learn how we can grow in the care for our common home, as Pope Francis has written in his encyclical, Laudato Si. Construction for this garden site began earlier this year and the hope is for it to be open for pilgrims and programs by the Feast Day of St. Francis, October 4, 2024.

Advent Prayer Opportunities
Advent is a prayerful season of preparation for the celebration of the Nativity of Our Lord. At Holy Apostles, we have many opportunities for prayer and reflection during this season including:
Discipleship Small Groups - Discuss and pray with others every week with the reflection booklet, "Journeying Together Through Advent" by Ann Naffziger.
Vespers (Evening Prayer) - Join us on Wednesday, December 6 at 6:30pm in the Church for Vespers and testimonies in preparation for the Eucharistic Revival in 2024.
Reconciliation - On Saturday, December 9, from 9:00-10:00am, we are hosting a prayer service to reflect on our lives through prayer, Scripture, and song. Several priests will be available for individual Reconciliation. Reconciliation will also be available on Wednesdays, December 6, 13, and 20 from 5:00-6:00pm in the Welcome Center/Fr. Arul's Office.
Care for Creation Breakfast
Join us to watch a powerful video, “Kiss the Ground: How We Can Reverse Climate Change” that describes the primary factor for rising temperatures in our world – carbon in the atmosphere - and what we can do about it. This film is uplifting and will leave you feeling hopeful. We will watch “Kiss the Ground” at the Care for Creation Prayer breakfast on Saturday, Dec. 2 starting at 8:00 am and we should end sometime around 10:15 am.
Mercy Mats
You can be the hands of Jesus by providing Mercy Mats to the homeless through the MacCanon Brown Homeless Sanctuary. If interested in learning more about this ministry, we are offering sessions two times per month to gather in fellowship and have fun making a Mercy Mat with others. Many hands are needed to create these mats made out of plastic grocery bags. We are looking for people to help cut strips of plastic, loop and roll into balls of 'plarn". We also need people who can crochet the plarn into a mat. Consider joining us and we will show you how. For more information, please contact Kris Kodaski at kkodaski@aol.com.

The Spiritual Adoption Prayer program will be celebrated at Holy Apostles Parish from August 2023 through May 2024! Since we are a prayerful community, the Respect Life Committee humbly asks you to pray this simple prayer, written by Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen, for an unborn child of God:
"Jesus, Mary and Joseph, I love you very much! I beg you to spare the life of baby, (insert the name you have given your spiritually adopted baby), the unborn baby that I have spiritually adopted, who is in danger of abortion."
Please pray this simple prayer every day for nine months. Prayer cards will be distributed the weekend of August 12 &13 and will be available in the Welcome Center on an easel with beautiful illustrations of the infant in the womb.
