Mercy Mats
Be the hands of Jesus and make Mercy Mats for MacCanon Brown Homeless Sanctuary. Many hands are needed to create these mats made of plastic grocery bags. We need people to sort and flatten plastic bags, cut the bags into strips, and loop the strips together and roll into balls called plarn (plastic yarn). Those who can crochet will use the balls to make the mats. We have supplies, but you may bring your own bags, scissors and crochet supplies. Childcare is not provided; children/teenagers are welcome to help. For information, contact Kris Kodaski at kkodaski@aol.com. Click below on "More Dates" for more information and meeting dates!
Care for Creation
Please join us for our next Care for Creation Breakfast on Saturday, February 8 at 8:30 am in the Welcome Center: Mary Room. We will be watching a TED talk, "The Tipping Points of Climate Change - and Where We Stand." In this TED talk, scientist Johan Rockstrom discusses the latest in climate science, tipping points, and why he is both nervous but also still optimistic about the current state of the planet. This is a follow-up to the documentary we watched in January, "Breaking Boundaries: The Science of Our Planet." To register for the meeting, please click below. If you have any questions, please contact Libby Mueller at libedet@att.net. Joyfully, Libby and Jerry Mueller

Lectio Divina: A Sacred Prayer Practice
Are you searching for deep union with God? Come and join us! Every first Saturday of the month at 9:00 a.m. in the Welcome Center. No need to register just join us!
"Lectio Divina," or "sacred reading," describes a way of praying with the Scriptures, taking us from the mind to the heart, from words to silence. It is a journey inward, an invitation to encounter God in a deeply personal and transformative way. Lectio Divina involves four steps: 1. Lectio (Reading) 2. Meditatio (Reflection) 3. Oratio (Response) 4. Contemplatio (Rest)
For those who love silence, Lectio Divina can be a rich, hour-long experience. Practiced daily, it offers a path to growing in relationship with Christ, where Scripture becomes a living, guiding force within us.
Any questions feel free to reach out to Fr. Arul, aponnaiyan@hanb.org.
Spiritual Adoption Prayer Program
The Spiritual Adoption Prayer program will be celebrated at Holy Apostles Parish from September 2024 through May 2025.
All that is needed is to pray a daily prayer written by Venerable Fulton J. Sheen for a preborn child of God:
Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, I love you very much! I beg you to spare the life of baby (insert the name you have chosen for your spiritually adopted baby), the unborn baby that I have spiritually adopted, who is in danger of abortion.
Please pray this simple prayer every day for nine months. Prayer cards will be available in the Welcome Center on the Respect Life Ministry (RLM) easel and/or table. RLM meets the first Tuesday of each month at 6:30pm in the Peter Conference Room. All are welcome!
