CARE and SUPPORT
Bereavement Ministry
Contacts the family when a death occurs within a family of the parish and offers support and assistance. Members of this ministry attend the funeral and stay in contact with the family as a way of showing the love and support of the Holy Apostles community. A new Grief Support group is part of this ministry. Meets monthly.
Care and Support Group
Offers support to parishioners to ease the burden of a recent tragedy and invites participation in creating solutions to current problems in a timely manner. The goal of the ministry is to build a sense of community in the parish as we work together to promote hope and healing. Meets monthly.
Communion to the Homebound
Delivers the Eucharist to parishioners that are homebound. Volunteers often spend time praying with and helping others feel part of the Holy Apostles community. A couple of hours, typically on Sunday.

Visitation Ministry
Keeps track of where older parishioners live and tries to keep them connected to the parish through personal visits, delivering the bulletin and praying with them. We recently added an effort to “visit” people though regular phone calls.

Prayer Shawl Ministry
Engages the power of prayer through the communion of parishioners who volunteer to produce a gift that is both tangible and spiritual, to bring ongoing comfort and support to individuals in need. Blessed prayer shawls, scarves and other items are created and distributed through this ministry.
