Marriage Validations (Convalidations) 

In recent years, the Catholic Church is putting a special focus to "Bring Your Marriage Home!" In fact, in 2025, Archbishop Jeffrey Grob extended a special invitation for all married couples to bring their marriages into the Catholic Church. Here are some common situations this may apply to: 

• Being civilly married (with or without a previous marriage). 

• Getting married in the outdoors or other wedding venue*. 

• A Catholic getting married in a non-Catholic church*. 

• Begin married by a non-Catholic minister*. 

*Without prior authorization from the Catholic Church
